I’m Robin, your new mom friend and cleaning cheerleader. I know why you’re here. I was once in your shoes. Twice actually, and I’m currently finding my way out of the weeds as we speak. Postpartum for some is a total walk in the park, and I love that for you! For others however, it can feel isolating and exhausting. (That’s me!)
For me it looked like taking a 5 minute shower twice a week. That’s my record. I can shampoo twice, condition once, scrub my whole body and shave everything that’s the least bit stubbly in 5 quick minutes. Not because I have to, but because I can hear my baby crying who’s actually playing happily with dad and brother in the living room. Funny how that works huh?
It also looked like not opening mail and leaving stacks of mail and papers on my dresser and craft table.
Oh yeah, crafting? Hobbies? I don’t remember what that is. With both my kids I lived in survival mode for a good 10 to 14 months. I’m now on my second and last baby at about 10.5 months in and I’m starting to feel like myself again. I could probably thank my wonderful husband this time around though. We misplaced some rather important papers having to do with taxes and we flipped our house upside down.
What started in the safe turned into the tops of our dressers, and then the junk drawer in the kitchen, and then the gun cabinet. And before we knew it, he found those papers and I couldn’t stop organizing. Thanks guy! Couldn’t have gotten out of this slump without you 😉
Not only do we have to deal with the mental and physical effects of postpartum, we’re also juggling being a full-time working mom (or maybe you’re a SAHM which I’m sure has its own challenges) with toddlers or babies is no easy task. Between work, childcare, and daily responsibilities, keeping a clean and organized home can feel nearly impossible. But with the right mindset, strategies, and a new bestie to help you get through the mental load, you can simplify your home and maintain a peaceful space without feeling overwhelmed. Stick around and I’ll help you create a manageable cleaning routine, de-clutter efficiently, and embrace a home that works for your busy lifestyle!
